Greater Wichita Chapter of KSAEYC
The Greater Wichita Chapter of KSAEYC is an organization for early childhood professionals which will provide each member the opportunity for personal and professional growth through supportive involvement with other early childhood professionals. We meet monthly at a different child care facility in the area for networking, a short business meeting, tour of the facility and often at least a 1 hour KDHE approved in-service training. This is a free benefit to members. Non-members are encouraged and invited to attend the in-service training opportunities for a $10 fee per training. We hope you will consider joining us! Event information is often updated on the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/gwc.ksaeyc/. If you are interested in joining this group, contact Cathy Gray at email@example.com.
The Week of The Young Child, which is an annual celebration, was established first by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It publicly focuses on the needs of young children and their families, while recognizing the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
To bring the Week of the Young Child to a close, held from April 8-12, 2019, Greater Wichita Chpater-KSAEYC and the Early Childhood Directors Organizations would like to take the time to recognize professionals who have made an impact on the lives of the children for whom they have provided care.
The WOYC Impact Awards Ceremony will be held in the Galichia Family Auditorium at Wichita Collegiate School from 2 to 4 PM on April 13, 2019. Nominators are also welcome to attend the ceremony as well.
This event is co-sponsored by the Greater Wichita
and the Early Childhood Directors Organization.
Join us for a FREE screening!
Join Wichita Collegiate School and the Greater Wichita Chapter – Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children for a FREE screening of “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?,” the acclaimed documentary about Fred Rogers.
This is a personal portrait of Mr. Rogers, a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination. Through interviews with family and colleagues, this film takes you behind the screens to see how Fred Rogers navigated the cultural and social issues of the second half of the twentieth century with his own brand of forward-thinking, compassionate wisdom.
An optional time for feedback and discussion will take place after the screening. This movie is recommended for ages 13 and up, as well as for teachers, caregivers and parents.
